he had an affair and he was involved in cash scandals.. what he taught bears very little resemblance to jw`s of today.. so how can jw`s say that he was chosen by god to start the modern day religion?.

How Could CT Russell Be In Heaven? The Watchtower claims he is one of the "anointed" faithful ones in heaven.
Yet he celebrated birthdays, Christmas, believed false Pyramidology, among other beliefs no longer taught by the Watchtower. I thought a person who practiced these things was not allowed in heaven?
What teachings did Russell believe that did get him into heaven? Can anyone show me the bible verses and doctrine that got him in?

my invitation to the memorial....no one has come to see me or spoken with me for almost a year now since i left.

May I recommend taking time to look at what you had been taught as a Jehovah Witness, examine some simple doctrine, and look at some teachings that they dont want you to know about.
Dont rush back because of any guilt, or feelings that somehow you are wrong. If the Watchtower teaches "truth" then what you find will only support the "truth". But if they dont...........
1 Corinthians 11:17-34 Read this a few times, think about what Paul is saying, and ask yourself, " Does this sound like a one time a year event?" Is the Lord's Supper to celebrate one day out of the year? Or is it to proclaim Christ and his death until his 2nd coming. What would happen if this was observed once a month, or once a week?
Is the Watchtower teaching that the "other sheep", who do not partake, accurate? Could your bible teach you something different?
Some verses you may want to consider John 10:16 "not of this fold"? Did Jesus mean the "anointed" fold, or the "Jewish" fold? Lets find out. Please read Romans 11:25-31 ; Eph 2:11-19 ; Eph 3:1-12 ; Romans 15:9-12

True Christians should look at any professed Christian Group like the Watchtower and answer ............
1) I only reject those that are not based on Scripture.
2)All that are based on Scripture
3)Those that are not based on Scripture
4)None, If everything I believe can be supported clearly by Scripture then I can be confident I have only truth.
A simple example. The Watchtower tells its members to believe that Jesus is Michael the Archangel. Read the small book of Jude. What does Jude say about this? Also consider that If Jesus is Michael when back in heaven, why does every New Testament writer call the resurrected Lord Jesus, Our Savior Christ Jesus, Christ Our King etc. Can you find one verse where Michael is called Our Lord, Saviour, King?

This teaching that the "other sheep" are earth bound believers who will never see heaven was fabricated by Mr. Rutherford in the 1930's. ( John 10:16 )
What does your bible teach you about who the "other sheep" of Jesus fold really are? Simply read the following bible passages and see who the Apostle Paul says are the "other sheep".

Who are the other sheep Jesus was speaking of? Gentiles, non-Jewish Christian believers.

this week at the study of the revelation book there was a paragraph that said that god's kingdom would soon usher in a. paradise earth.

The sense of urgency is a tool used to keep members knocking on doors and hyped emotionally so that they will not take the time to look at what they have been told, and question the very teachings that they consider to be true. People can be emotionally controlled for years with this technique, and if they leave the religion, it is weakness and lack of faith on their part, not the religion or its teachings
For example, ask a JW (Jehovah Witness) when you see the word "God" in the Bible, who is it referring to? They will say Jehovah, the only true God. He alone is Almighty God.
Then ask them to explain Isaiah 9:6 Jesus is called "Mighty God" and Isaiah 10:20,21 "Jehovah is called "Mighty God" The same for both in their bible. They always say they will find out the answer and get back to me. How sad!! It has been longer than 19 years, and they still can not answer or make sense of who is "God" from their Bibles. And where can they go to get constructive bible teaching on this issue? Not their religion, it cant make the verses fit their doctrine. Their spiritual leaders cant answer it. And they are the source for all "truth" in modern times. They can only research religious topics in their own literature, so they will never find the answer.
But the time is short, the end is near, lets get out and convert some more poor lost souls to the "truth" that we cant explain!
jw's will not take a blood transfusion but will have organ transplants.

there was a jw kid in sa that needed a liver and the parents did everything in their power to get money together for him to go to uk for a bloodless op.

i know that as a youngster, i felt pretty good about myself because i remained "faithful" and didn't eat birthday cake while everyone else was enjoying it.......i know of wives that came into the hall with a black eye "for jehovah" and were almost deified because of their "stand".

Can anyone show me a bible verse in the New Testament that says we should suffer pursecution for the name of Jehovah? Even in the Watchtower Bible no such verse exists. Sadly, being pursecuted because one does not celebrate a birthday or salute a flag is not based on scripture, but Watchtower Dogma. The Apostle Paul wrote that we would suffer for someone. Philipians 1:29 If you have time, read the first chapter of Philippians esp from verse 12 thru 29 and note who Paul says was preached, suffered for, etc. If you have a Watchtower Bible note how many times the name Jehovah is mentioned.
( JW's look up in the Watchtower Index 1930-1985 the bible verses 2 Corinthians 4:4, 5 You will find it interesting how few times the Watchtower quoted verse 5 over 55 years of printed literature. And please note the message in verse 5, does it sound like what the Watchtower preaches?)

i was df'd in 1976 and lived my whole life thinking the jws have the truth and i just could not live up to the standard and was doomed to die at the big a without question.
until i found jwd 31 years later.
For Christians, one of the first things you need to understand when it comes to God is what the word means.
The Watchtower claims its a Title. Only one being can be God according to the Watchtower. Your Bible will tell you "God" is a nature (substance) that only those who are truly God are made of. Note Galatians 4:8 where Paul tells them "Formerly you were slaves to those who by nature are not gods" Why were their gods not the "True God" ? Because of what they were made of, wood, stone etc.
If God is a substance or nature, then who is made up of this divine nature? Note Isaiah 9:6 speaking of Jesus "Mighty God" Isaiah 10:20,21 says Jehovah is "Mighty God" Even the Watchtower Bible had to translate these verses correctly. If Jesus and Jehovah are God by nature or substance, we have two living beings, One God.
If I use the word human. I am refering to a substance. Men & Women are by nature human. Two unique type of beings, one nature. It is also true that the millions of living persons around the world, all unique in themselves are all one by nature. So many living beings can be just one thing.
We still have not proven who the third being is that would make up the Trinity Doctrine. Lets do this at another time. Hope this helps.
